James Bessen will speak during the “Fireside: Will a more tech-driven workforce worsen economic inequality?” talk as part of the Future of Work: Rethinking the Digital Workplace Conference. The talk will occur virtually on October 19, 2022, from 6:20-6:40am eastern time.

The talk will discuss how periods of forced remote working accelerated rapid digitization and automation, yet certain employees and low-skilled workers may find themselves out of a job if they are unable to keep up with the shift in the labour market. Is innovation going to worsen income inequality? How can governments ensure that education and training is available for citizens to remain part of a tech-driven workforce?
