My research focuses on how children understand and navigate social issues, through applied developmental and social justice-centered perspectives. Current studies include discovering how (or whether) caregivers and educators address sexism, racism, and cultural topics with children. Another focus involves educational settings and approaching social and emotional development with an anti-racism lens. Together with community partners and organizations, I also help create and evaluate of educational media and technology-based interventions designed to help children navigate social issues and current events.
