In this lecture, titled Boston Terror - The Origins of Ecological Genocide In Your Backyard (and how you can stop it), anthropologist David Shane Lowry, Ph.D., shed light on BU’s proximities to and relationships with the creation of policies, educational models, and corporate cultures that displace Indigenous peoples in the United States. The conversation focused on the tension at the center of American life that needs to be resolved: widescale suppression of Indigenous presence in everyday American institutions vs. a rapidly increasing need for the United States and the world to have access to Indigenous knowledge and political authority.

On Wednesday, March 29, 2023, Boston University's Office of Human Resources and the Office of the Senior Diversity Officer hosted their second Workplace Culture: Innovation to Action Speaker Series. These events highlight workplace culture practices [...]and concepts from significant thought leaders and subject matter experts. The spring session was devoted to managing mental health at work.
This event started with opening remarks from Amanda Bailey, Boston University's Vice President for Human Resources, and a keynote presentation from David Ulrich, Rensis Likert Professor at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business. Panelists included Constance Noonan Hadley, Lecturer for Management and Organizations at Boston University's Questrom School of Business, Manuel Cuevas-Trisán, Vice President of Human Resources at Harvard University, and Karen Brouhard, Director of Faculty & Staff Assistance Office at Boston University. The panel discussion was moderated by Judy Platt, Boston University's Chief Health Officer & Executive Director of Student Health Services, and Andrea L. Taylor, Boston University's Senior Diversity Officer, made closing remarks.
