Willing Suspension Productions Presents: The Sea Voyage by John Fletcher and Philip Massinger

Massinger and Fletcher’s collaborative play The Sea Voyage (1623) rewrites The Tempest, by Shakespeare. But in place of magic and patriarchal anxiety, the play features pirates, self-governing Amazons, treasure from a shipwreck, and even [...]attempted cannibalism.
This year's production was staged April 21-23rd 2016, at the Boston University Student Theater at Agganis Arena, as part of BU's celebration of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death.
Willing Suspension Productions, established in 1996 and based in the Boston University English Department, is devoted exclusively to staging plays by Shakespeare’s lesser-known, but nonetheless fascinating, contemporaries.
