SLEEP is an important Public Health topic since lack of adequate sleep could [...]lead to poor academic performance for students, motor vehicle accidents, and other hazardous health problems- Individuals who are sleep deprived are at a higher risk for chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, depression, and obesity. As students, there is a lot expected from us and we tend to sacrifice our sleep on a daily basis- but getting that extra hour of sleep will help you in the long run so make sure you keep up your good Sleep Hygiene!
Some Tips for Maintaining Sleep Hygiene: (From the CDC website)
1. Go to bed at the same time each night and rise at the same time each morning.
2. Avoid large meals before bedtime.
3. Avoid caffeine and alcohol close to bedtime.
