A [...]recent study published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health has found that nearly two thirds of those who make New Year’s resolutions abandon them in the first month.
Turns out, it’s notoriously difficult to keep those resolutions. But why? We reached out to two experts on human behavior—Deborah Carr, a College of Arts & Sciences professor of sociology and inaugural director of the Center for Innovation in Social Science, and Joe McGuire, a CAS assistant professor of psychological and brain sciences and director of the Cognition & Decision Lab—for some insight.
