BCAP Illuminates Athol Fugard’s “Mecca”

The chaotic, magical world of Athol Fugard’s The Road to Mecca was inspired by the life of the late sculptor and free spirit Helen Elizabeth Martins, South Africa’s best-known outsider artist who committed suicide. A new production by [...]BU’s Boston Center for American Performance – the professional wing of the School of Theater and directed by Judy Braha runs through March 5th at BU’s Lane-Comley Studio 210. In this slideshow, CFA students Andrea Gordon and James Fluhr combine an original score and magical set to create the “Mecca” of Fugard’s play.
