Motive magazine shaped a generation of young, passionate activists and leaders. Boston [...]University School of Theology and the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry invite you to celebrate a new project to digitize motive magazine and make it available to a new generation of scholars and leaders. On Wednesday, September 16, the art viewing will begin at 4:30pm, followed by a 5:00pm presentation. The program will include a display of motive art, a look at the new digital platform for motive issues, a Readers’ Theater performance of what motive meant to a generation, and a panel of experts who worked with and studied motive. Panelists include B.J. Stiles, former editor of motive magazine; Frank Lloyd Dent, author of the dissertation motive magazine: Advocating the Arts and Empowering the Imagination in the Life of the Church; and Tom Driver, contributor to motive magazine and retired professor at Union Theological Seminary.
