The seminar focused on recent patterns in the higher education system worldwide, the ability for universities to benefit the surrounding communities both economically and educationally, the argument that universities should dedicate themselves to [...]playing a greater civic role in the community and the role of education as a collaborative effort.
Following the presentations by the panelists, the audience engaged the panel in discussions of student debt and the role of public finance in higher education, the role of universities in job training, and the role of the liberal arts in education.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made the world a pretty scary place, as the number of cases and fatalities continue to climb and more and more people are furloughed or lose their jobs. None of us has ever experienced anything like this before, but [...]it’s important to remember that although times are tough, we’re in this together.
It bears repeating: we are all in this together. We emailed dozens of faculty, staff, and administrators and asked them to send some words of encouragement and reassurance to Terriers around the globe who are finishing out their semesters virtually, far from campus. Their words remind us that we’re there for one another and that we’ll come out of this stronger. Take a look.
