Two recent graduates from the Archaeology Program are recipients of prestigious Fulbright Scholarships:

At Liverpool, she’ll take classes on the archaeology of the Near East and various materials analyses, with an emphasis on archaeobotany for the master’s thesis work. Sydney will be conducting research at the Liverpool Archaeobotany Laboratory, focusing on human-environmental interactions and early agricultural development in the Near East.
Emma Schlauder (CAS’19) has been awarded a J. William Fulbright Scholarship for study in the United Kingdom. A double major in archaeology and history, with a minor in classical civilization, Emma will use the award to attend the University of Sheffield’s MSc program in Human Osteology and Funerary Archaeology in fall 2019.
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for research or art projects, graduate degree programs, or for English Teaching Assistantships outside of the United States. Congratulations and good luck to both students as they embark on their journeys across the pond!
