Students in the Political Science/African American Studies course “From Slavery to Freedom: Abolition in Comparative Perspective” presented an exhibit at the Photonics Center, 8 St. Mary’s Street, from Friday, April 24, through Sunday, April 26. Titled “From the ‘Body of Liberties’ to Liberated Bodies: Black Boston from the 1630s to the 1850s,” the exhibit featured images and information about the lives of black Bostonians during the Colonial and pre-Civil War era. The exhibit was part of a larger symposium in honor of Adelaide Cromwell and the 40th Anniversary of the founding of African American Studies at Boston University.
