On Sunday, May 17, over 6,500 Terriers received their undergraduate and graduate degrees at BU’s 142nd Commencement. We heard from NAACP President Cornell William Brooks (STH’87, Hon.’15), who kicked off the event with a stirring Baccalaureate address, as well as Commencement student speaker Seung-joon Lee (CAS’15) who, according to a fellow graduate, “spoke the truth, gave us inspiration, and made everyone cry.” Our very own Dean Virginia Sapiro delivered the keynote for the political science convocation this weekend with her speech, “Civility in Politics.” And, of course, commencement speaker Meredith Vieira (Hon.’15) offered a memorable lesson on dancing to your own tune, complete with a surprise appearance. You can watch other highlights of Sunday’s ceremony here.
