For much of his Hollywood career, the actor, writer, and director has striven to make gay people more visible on television, first playing Emmett Honeycutt on Showtime’s groundbreaking 酷儿, 民间 and now working as a creator and executive producer of ABC Family’s 的培养, an award-winning series about an interracial lesbian couple and their blended family.
