CAS Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Debuts Emerging Scholars Virtual “Road Show”

The Emerging Scholars Program, sponsored by the BU Office of Diversity and Inclusion (BU D & I), presents a unique opportunity for departments to present the scholarship and teaching of emerging scholars from historically underrepresented backgrounds in the academy. The call for Departmental proposals for the 2022-23 Emerging Scholars Program begins on November 1, 2021, with decisions by early 2022.

CAS departments including anthropology and archaeology, psychological and brain sciences, and sociology, have had great success with the Program since it was launched. On November 2 and November 3, the CAS Business Office, CAS Diversity & Inclusion, and a multidisciplinary group of faculty panelists welcome faculty to attend a virtual “roadshow” to learn more about their experiences and strategies for submitting a successful application to CAS.

Roadshow dates & times:
• November 2: 11 am-12 pm ((via Zoom)
o Faculty panelists: Deborah Carr (Sociology), David Carballo (Anthropology & Archaeology), and Martha Tompson (Psychological & Brain Sciences)

• November 3: 3:30-4:30 pm (via Zoom)
o Faculty panelists: Hannah Čulik-Baird (Classical Studies), John Marston (Anthropology & Archaeology), Stephen Scully (Classical Studies)
