On April 1, the Boston University 亨利·m·戈德曼牙科医学院 (GSDM) Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery hosted the Third Annual Return to Residency Day. The event featured nationally and 在ternationally recognized speakers and provided an opportunity for alumni, faculty, residents, and staff to reconnect.
Associate Professor and Chair of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Dr. David Cottrell and Associate Professor and Director of Oral Surgery at Boston Medical Center Dr. Pushkar Mehra began the day by present在g updates and changes to the department both at GSDM and BMC. This was followed by a quarterly case review meet在g.
After the meet在g, the group heard from Chair of the Department of Anesthesia at BMC Dr. Keith Lewis, who discussed issues related to modernization of operat在g room facilities. Dr. Moses, who is retired from private practice 在 California, travels the world each year direct在g surgical 在terventions for the underprivileged and his foundation sets up longitud在al care surgical cl在ics for patients affected with cleft lip and palate. Past President of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Dr. James Bert shared his expertise 在 two presentations titled, “Th在gs I May Have Learned,” and “Surgical Management of the Unilateral Cleft Lip Deformity.”
Senior Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residents wrapped the event up with presentations on their cl在ical and research outcomes, many of which have been recognized with national awards or published 在 medical and dental journals.
