Seniors Awarded for ‘Extraordinary Abilities’

The DMD Class of 2011 was celebrated with a brunch in their honor on Saturday, May 21. Graduates were invited to attend with their family and friends. The brunch, hosted by Dean Jeffrey and Mrs. Kathy Hutter, carried over the enthusiasm from the prior day’s commencement ceremony and gave students the opportunity to be recognized with individual awards.
Yearbooks were also distributed at the event and a slideshow of student photos set to music was shown, giving students a chance to reminisce with one another about some of the excellent times they shared during Dental School.
Dean Hutter began the awards ceremony with an address to the large group. He thanked the families and friends of the graduates for attending this important event. He then addressed the graduates, "I offer my sincerest wishes of congratulations to each and every one of you on your fine accomplishments. You have worked very hard during your years at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, and during yesterday’s convocation, your hard work was rewarded as you received your DMD degrees at our commencement ceremony from Boston University and took another step toward entering your chosen profession of dentistry. And to today’s award winners: For you to be singled out among such a distinguished group of your peers is indeed an honor that speaks to your extraordinary abilities.”
Awards were handed out by faculty and staff representatives. A complete list of awards and award winners can be found here.
