DMD Class of 2003 (15th reunion) with Dean Hutter

Members of nine alumni classes from the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) held a combined reunion and reception on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at the Fairmont Copley Hotel in Boston. Led by class champions Larry Dunham DMD 83, Gigi Meinecke DMD 88, Samira Sheikh DMD 03, and Natasha Larson DMD 08, the celebrating alumni visited with GSDM faculty and caught up with classmates.

Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter welcomed everyone to the reunion reception, and thanked them for attending various events throughout the weekend. “It’s wonderful to have you return to the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, and I hope you are having an enjoyable reunion being back in our wonderful city of Boston,” he said. “This is such an exciting time in the history of the school, as we look forward to the completion of the first phase of our expansion and renovation project in early 2019.”

The Dean recognized Sam Coffin DMD 78, who was celebrating his 40th reunion, accompanied by his wife, Deborah Coppa. He also acknowledged Leila Rosenthal, Clinical Professor of General Dentistry, who began her teaching career at GSDM in 1978.

At the close of the reception, Assistant Dean of Development and Alumni Relations Kevin Holland gave an update on the naming campaign for the new building project, announcing that 57 of the 100 patient treatment rooms had been named as of that evening. He noted that five individuals had committed during alumni weekend to a $25,000 gift to name a patient treatment room: Madhuri Punaty DMD 01; Loubna Pla ENDO 08; Adela Agolli Tarshi DMD 08 AEGD 09 ENDO 12; Kyle Findly DMD 03; and Sam Coffin DMD 78.

Reunion attendees started the day with a hard-hat tour of the construction project and a tour of the school. Led by Director of Facilities and Operations Andrew Burke, the tours gave reunion classes a peek at the new Albany Street patient entrance as well as the still-under-construction spaces for the Office of Student Affairs and Office of Admissions and the Patient Treatment Centers’ Main Waiting Room. Also participating in the tours were Dean Hutter and Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving Stacey McNamee.

On Saturday, upon closing, Dean Hutter invited everyone to return next year to see the new Patient Entrance, first floor and basement and go on hard-hat tours of the second phase of the four-phase  expansion and renovation construction project.
