Looking Forward to Yankee Dental Congress 33

Yankee Dental Congress 33 takes place next week at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. The exhibit halls are open Thursday, January 31 from 10:00 am – 5:30 pm, Friday, February 1 from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm, and Saturday, February 2 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

BUGSDM will be sponsoring two lounges and one booth in the exhibit hall. "I encourage faculty, staff, and students attending Yankee to visit the three BUGSDM locations and support our school at this exciting dental event," said Dean ad interim Hutter.

The Dental Career Network will be located in a lounge adjacent to the New Dentist Lounge. The lounge will feature private consultations in preparing a resume, free job postings, and seminars on a variety of topics. Dr. Mitchell Sabbagh DMD 87 will present a seminar on interviewing from 12:00 – 1:00 pm on both Friday, February 1 and Saturday, February 2. There will also be a raffle to win a GPS navigation system.

Alumni relations will be located in the BU Lounge. The lounge will offer visitors an opportunity to connect with BUGSDM while enjoying breakfast, snacks, and a chance to participate in a raffle for great prizes. Friday, February 1 alumni, faculty, staff, and students are also invited to attend an alumni cocktail reception from 5:30 – 7:00 pm at the Seaport Hotel, Plaza Ballroom. Everyone planning to attend the reception should RSVP to Alumni Coordinator Michelle Clemente, 617/638-4891.

Continuing Education will be located at booth 2610. If you haven’t picked up the spring 2008 course catalog or a brochure for one of the other upcoming programs, including the 17th Annual International Symposium on Implantology, the 24th Annual Oral Health & HIV Symposium, Cruise & Learn: Alaska, or Cruise & Learn: Queen Mary 2, they will all be available at the booth.

In addition, four BUGSDM students will be presenting posters on Saturday, February 2, beginning at 11:00 am at the student table clinics located in the exhibit hall. Posters include “The Role of N-Glycosylation in Submandibular Gland Branching Morphogenesis,” by Renato de Luna DMD 09; “Dental Management of Diabetic Patients,” by Dion Tik-Shun Li DMD 09; “Horizontal Versus Vertical Bitewings in Opening Interproximal Contacts,” by Prashanti Bollu DMD 08; “Minimally Invasive Sinus Elevation Techniques With or Without Simultaneous Implant Placement: How to Get Around Challenging Anatomical Limitations,” by Camille Siqueira, PERIO 08.
