Dr. Cataldo Leone Appointed Associate Dean for Academic Affairs

Dr. Cataldo Leone was appointed to Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine (BUGSDM). Dr. Leone holds the position of Professor of Periodontology and Oral Biology at BUGSDM and has served as Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs since 2007.

Prior to joining BUGSDM in 1999, Dr. Leone held numerous positions at Tufts University including Associate Professor of Periodontology; Director of Postdoctoral Periodontology; Chair ad interim, Department of Periodontology; Director of Graduate Studies ad interim; and Co-Director, Predoctoral Student Research and Faculty Advisor, Robert R. Andrews Predoctoral Research Honors Society.

Dr. Leone is a Diplomate of the American Board of
Periodontology
. He practices at both the Faculty Practice at the Boston University Dental Health Center and Boston Medical Center as a member of the Department of Hospital Dentistry/OMFS. Dr. Leone has been honored as Clinician of the Year at the Boston University Dental Health Center.

Dr. Leone has an impressive track record of leadership at BUGSDM, on the Medical Campus, and at the University level; Co-Chair of the Predoctoral Student Research Committee; Co-Chair of the Task Force on Faculty and Staff Development; Co-Chair of the Task Force on Restructuring the Restorative Sciences Curriculum, Predoctoral Curriculum Committee; Chair of the Subcommittee of Biomedical Sciences Course Directors, Predoctoral Curriculum Committee; and the Chair of the Predoctoral Curriculum Committee.
