Dr. Mark Ferriero Receives Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition Award

Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) Clinical Associate Professor Dr. Mark Ferriero received the Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition Award (LLSR) from the Dental Education Council of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) at the July Annual Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland.
"I’ve been an active AGD member since 1986, received my Fellowship in 2000, and my Mastership in 2006," said Dr. Ferriero. "I’ve spent the last three years working towards the LLSR, earning over 1,700 CEUs since 1990."
"Dr. Ferriero’s commitment to lifelong learning is a wonderful example for our students," said Dean Hutter, adding "I extend my congratulations to Mark on this impressive accomplishment."
Dr. Ferriero received an etched crystal award at the AGD Region 1 Caucus Meeting on July 10 and was also acknowledged and presented with a sapphire lapel pin by AGD President Dr. Paula Jones at the larger Convocation Ceremony on July 11. Only 93 out of 35,000 AGD member dentists in North America have received the LLSR award.
“Dr. Ferriero is truly deserving of this recognition," said GSDM Professor and Chair of General Dentistry Dr. Judith Jones. "His dedication to teaching students shows in their performance on boards. We are very proud of his accomplishments.”
