Dr. Richard Szmola to Present Research in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Richard Szmola, postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Miklos Sahin-Toth, will give an oral presentation in Washington, D.C., during Digestive Disease Week May 19-24.
Dr. Szmola’s paper, "Chymotrypsin C Regulates Degradation of Human Cationic Trypsin," presents important findings in the development of chronic pancreatitis, a disease in which the digestive enzyme trypsin plays a central role. Dr. Sahin-Toth, who studies pancreatitis caused by genetic mutations, served as principal investigator of the study.
The world’s largest meeting of gastrointestinal scientists, Digestive Disease Week brings together more than 16,000 attendees each year.
