BUGSDM Faculty Inducted to American and International Colleges of Dentists

The American (ACD) and International (ICD) Colleges of Dentists inducted 14 BUGSDM faculty and alumni during separate ceremonies in San Francisco last week.

Boston University was the only school with alumni and communications staff on site to document the induction of its alumni and faculty.

ACD inductees include: Assistant Professor Joseph Calabrese DMD 91 AEGD 92, Associate Dean for Clinical Services Stephen DuLong DMD 75 PROS 78, Director of Predoctoral Education Dr. Richard D’Innocenzo, Joel Dunsky ENDO 62, Karen Crowley OMFS 86, James Fisher ENDO 80,

ICD inductees include: Shadi Daher DMD 90 OMFS 94, Debbie Eisen DMD 88, Director of Restorative Dentistry Celeste Kong PROS 84 DMD 88, Joseph Pezza ORTHO 73, and Margaret Millington Snow DMD 82.

ACD invites dentists to become fellows based on a history of "leadership, excellence, and meritorious achievement in dentistry or public service," according to the College’s website. Fellows are commonly involved in professional organizations, education, and research, as are the fellows chosen from BUGSDM this year.

Similarly, the ICD seeks to recognize outstanding service to the field of dentistry and promote the profession for the public’s benefit. As ACD and ICD fellows, members will provide a high standard of leadership to contribute to both their profession and society.

The country’s oldest dental honor societies, ACD and ICD have origins dating to 1920.
