On Thursday, May 2, 2013, the Boston University School of Public Health sponsored a “Finish the Race” walk.  “Finish the Race” was developed as a tribute to the affected runners and spectators, and an expression of solidarity with everyone in Boston and neighboring communities who are working to move forward, past the horrific events during and after the Boston Marathon.

The event was a one-mile walk that began on the Talbot Green on the Medical Campus.  The first 300 participants received a “Finish the Race” t-shirt, which were worn as a sign of solidarity. At the finish line, participants had the opportunity to sign a greeting card for BMC patients still recovering from injuries suffered at the marathon.

“It was very gratifying to see many of our Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) faculty, staff, and students participating in this important event,” said Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter.  He continued, “As an active member of our community, GSDM stands ready to help our neighbors in any way we can as our city continues to cope with the impact of these tragic events.”
