GSDM Teaches Oral Health Care at Charlesview Summer Celebration/Health Fair

On August 7, 2014, volunteers from the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) participated in the Charlesview Summer Celebration/Health Fair at Charlesview Residences in Brighton, Massachusetts. The Charlesview Residences is a 240-unit mix of apartments designed for low and middle income families. The Summer Celebration was targeted at families to promote oral health.

Oral Health Promotion Director Kathy Lituri organized GSDM’s participation in the fair. Members of the Charlesview community enjoyed catered food and games during the celebration. GSDM had a booth where residents could stop by and learn about dental care from the volunteers and read informational posters and signs. Charlesview residents picked up a variety of health and wellness resources, including informational packets on good oral hygiene, as well as toothbrushes, and toothpaste.

Volunteers for the Summer Celebration were: John Costello DMD 16, Siavash Golaby Sanajany DMD 15, and Faraz Tartibi DMD 16.
