Students and Residents Present and Win at Yankee Dental Congress Research Poster Presentations

Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) students had a strong showing at the 2018 Yankee Dental Congress. Eight GSDM students presented their research posters at the Yankee Dental Congress’s Student Day on Saturday, January 27, 2018. The group consisted of six postdoctoral students and two predoctoral students. Out of all the dental schools in attendance, GSDM had the largest number of students presenting.

Dr. Alaa Alqutub PERIO 18 won the First Prize in the Postdoctoral Research poster category for her poster, Bone-Microenvironment Mediated Cancer Cell Dormancy, Dissemination, and Drug Resistance. Dr. Alqutub is pursuing a Doctor of Science degree in the Department of Periodontology as she works in the Chair of Periodontology’s lab, Dr. Serge Dibart’s DMD 89, and is being mentored by Dr. Erdjan Salih.
