A Campus Convo Corps

How about a Conversation Corps? A group of us, spread all over and  leading conversations.

We’re putting together something special – a collaboration of students, groups, faculty, staff, and departments to foster gatherings and conversations. Conversations that are productive, hip, and reach “across the aisle.” Conversations that reflect and acknowledge that fears exist.

We’re into rallying people, and bringing people together who are like-minded about hard and empowering conversation. We strive for a collective to help the campus community frame conversations to help lessen anxiety and fear among folks who maybe do not know each other or themselves. The goal is to struggle with helping people within our communities articulate their thoughts and identities in a style that others can relate to.

We’re bringing in Ask Big Questions on Sunday, January 25, to host a workshop to give us the resources and methods to bring diverse groups of people together to have conversations about things that matter. We will learn a set of skills and some ideas that can be used in many ways. Most importantly, we will learn to have personal conversations that bring people together, rather than drive a wedge in-between. The session will last from 1-5 p.m. at the Florence & Chaftez Hillel House. Join us for lunch at noon and drinks after the program if you wish.

Are you in? We would love to have you. Let us know by January 23 here: http://dosaskbigquestions.eventbrite.com

Peace.
