BU students and faculty present at Sustainable Communities & Campuses Conference
On March 29, three BU students presented at the ninth annual Sustainable Communities & Campuses Conference, with the theme, “Shaping the Future of Sustainability,” held in Harvard Square. Josh Taylor explained how students in Rick Reibstein’s course Research for Environmental Agencies & Organizations (GE 532) surveyed Massachusetts communities to find out what they are doing about lead pipes used for drinking water. Cory Seremetis detailed current work of students in that class on environmental justice policy. Will Chang described how the BU Outing Club brings students closer to nature. Reibstein, a conference organizer, lead a session on Environmentally Preferable Practices and Purchasing and a closing plenary on the Green New Deal. Presentations are now being posted on the conference website.
