Johns Hopkins SAIS launches Master of Arts in European Public Policy

The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) is expanding its degree offerings and has announced the launch of its Master of Arts in European Public Policy (MEPP). This program is designed to prepare students for careers related to the European Union and combines rigorous, multidisciplinary academic instruction on issues related to EU policies and activities, with hands-on practical training in the skills and techniques required to succeed in the broad EU policy community.

Based at SAIS Europe in Bologna, Italy, this one-year program taught by academics and practitioners provides students with a thorough introduction to the functioning of the EU and to the skills needed for a career in areas such as international organization, diplomacy, government affairs, political risk analysis, journalism, advocacy, lobbying and consulting with a European focus.  The program will accept applications on a rolling admissions basis this fall with the first students starting in summer 2020.

The program focuses on the relationship between the EU, national governments, and economic actors, analyzing opportunities and challenges. Students have access to lectures and seminars, negotiation simulations, interview training, mentoring, and assistance with career development including preparing applications for EU internships and competitions.

Review and endorsement by the Maryland Higher Education Commission is expected shortly. For additional information about the MEPP program, visit sais.jhu.edu/mepp.
