Come learn about a 6 week Brookline Sister City Summer project in Quezalguaque, Nicaragua starting in early or mid June- early August.

Building on earlier BU Public Health School projects they propose a 2 part intervention for this agricultural community.

1. ‘Water While Working’ public health awareness project.

2. Re-invigoration of a home health worker program in the hamlets around Quezalguaque.

Students need to be fluent in Spanish, be willing to live in a rustic setting, pay for their flight (about $700), room and board ($55 a week) and other miscellaneous expenses, (about $2000 total). Brookline sister city will pay for expenses for the project, and hire local college students from Quezalguaque to guide the students around and help them with the projects.

Peter Moyer MD, former director of the Emergency Dept. at BMC will be the BU faculty member and be with the students for the 1st week. He will supervise the students by telephone after that.
