BU Study Abroad Launches New London Program in History and Literature
Boston University British Programmes located in South Kensington, London have launched the inaugural semester for students wishing to focus on studying British history while in London. Seven students are participating in the program, not only from BU, but also the College of Wooster in Ohio and Colgate University, New York. The students take two core courses -Research Seminar in English History (HI 432) and London Since 1666: Imperial Capital to World City (HI 246)- and two elective courses while in London. The core courses are taught by British professors, assisted by Teaching Fellow and BU History Department graduate student Kathryn Lamontagne. The London History Programme students have enjoyed numerous field trips to historic sites including St. Paul’s, the Monument to the Great Fire of 1666, Royal Albert Hall, Albertopolis, and a weekend in Oxford visiting the Bodleian library, the Ashmolean Museum, Blenheim Palace, and living ‘in college’ at Wadham College. The students have been given a Reader’s Pass to complete upper level research at the London Library to complete their research for HI 432.
