Bacevich Leads Workshop on “History Beyond Academia”
In the latest in its series of professional development seminars, the History Graduate Student Organization hosted Professor Andrew Bacevich for a workshop on “History Beyond Academia.” Bacevich, an expert in US foreign relations and bestselling author, is a frequent contributor to the editorial pages of the nation’s leading newspapers and publications ranging from the New Left Review to the American Conservative. Over lunch on Monday, December 5th. he advised current graduate students on how to write and submit op-eds, manage the demands of academic writing with non-academic writing and how to utilize history in the classroom to provide a context to current events.
