PhD student | European cultural history/Britain and France in the 18th-19th centuries

Yasmeen entered the PhD program at BU in 2023 after completing her Master’s degree in History at the College of William & Mary. She also holds a BA in History and History of Art from the University of Michigan. Under the guidance of Professor James Johnson, she studies European cultural history in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, with a focus on Britain and France. Yasmeen is currently interested in exploring the intersection of sexuality, politics, and the visual arts, and has done previous research on the Enlightenment in Georgian England, as well as the role of maritime art in the formation of British national identity.
