Questrom Team Wins Big at Aspen Institute MBA Case Competition
BU Questrom School of Business’s “Team Sunny” took home a $15,000 grand prize after placing first in the tenth annual Aspen Institute Business & Society International MBA Case Competition.
The Case
This year’s case study was about the Connecticut Green Bank a quasi-governmental organization formed in 2011 to lower the cost of clean energy in order to make it more accessible and affordable to consumers in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, all while creating jobs and supporting local economic development. Connecticut Green Bank also established a not-for-profit subsidiary, Inclusive Prosperity Capital, to take over programs with less lucrative returns that benefited low- to moderate-income households.
Originally founded in 2009, the Business & Society International MBA Case Competition offers a singular opportunity for students from over 25 outstanding business programs worldwide (this year, competitors came from Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Greece, and Finland in addition to the United States) to reflect on the substantial effect—and the immense potential for positive social, environmental, and ethical impact—that a well-managed organization can have in society.
