Dr. Blanco has had a distinguished career in the academy, public policy, and journalism. He has been a professor at the National University of Venezuela, Harvard, and Boston University; has served as Venezuela’s Minister of State Reform; and for many years wrote a weekly op-ed piece for the Caracas newspaper, El Universal. He is also the author of several books on Latin American political economy, state reform, and President Hugo Chavez.
