Pablo Suarez Presents in Mali

pablo-suarezPardee Fellow Pablo Suarez made a presentation at a workshop in the West African city of Mopti (Mali), in the context of a new 5-year, 9-country program called “Partners for Resilience“. In his capacity as associate director of programs of the Red Cross / Red Crescent Climate Centre, Dr. Suarez has joined forces with colleagues from Wetlands InternationalCARECordaid and the Netherlands Red Cross in this €35 million program aimed at disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, with activities in Mali as well as Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Guatemala, Nicaragua, India, Indonesia and the Philippines.

“Partners for Resilience” includes three levels of work: community-level climate risk management, capacity building of civil society, and advocacy and policy. Suarez’s presentation at the workshop in Mali, on March 10th addressed innovative approaches to managing climate risks at the three levels.
