(Subsistence farmers try to cope with changing rains. How will donors juggle between disaster preparedness and response?)
GAME SESSION 2 (morning session 11:45 am): (parallel games – select 1)
a) “Urban Trade-offs: A Game on Adaptation and Mitigation Investments”
(Builders bid for public funds to improve their city’s infrastructure, threatened by changing flood risks)
OR
b) “Humans versus Mosquitoes: A Game on Dengue Risk Management”
(Disease-carrying bugs try to bite humans and lay eggs to reproduce. Will humans avoid being bitten and clean up mosquito breeding grounds?)
GAME SESSION 3 (afternoon session 2:00 pm): (parallel game – select 1)
c) “Broken Cities: A game on Sustainable Urban Development”
(Developers shape a growing city. How will governments address the causes and consequences of climate change?)
OR
d) “FAIR: A Game on Farmers, Aid, Insurance and Resilience”
(Rural villages face chronic food insecurity due to unreliable rains. Will innovative risk management schemes succeed in their promise to help? )
