Prof. Adil Najam, the Director of the Boston University Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future, was one of the panelists at a seminar organized by the Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs on “Pakistan-US Economic Relations.” The seminar was hosted by theĀ Henry L. Stimson Center in Washington DC and speakers on the panel Prof. Adil Najam, Former Planning Minister of Pakistan Mr. Ahsan Iqbal, Mr. Ahmer Bilal Soofi, Secretary General of the Pugwash Conferences Prof. Paolo Cotta-Ramusino, and Michael Krepon of the Stimson Center.

In his remarks, Prof. Najam highlighted the need for both countries to move towards a development perspective in defining their relationship, rather than focussing of a security-focused transactional relationship.
