Former Summer Fellow Ahmad Azari Wins 2021 Chandler Citizenship Award

Ahmad Azari, a 2020 Pardee Center Graduate Summer Fellow, was awarded the Carole A. Chandler Student Citizenship Award at the 2021 Pardee School of Global Studies Convocation.

The Chandler Citizenship Award is the Pardee School’s highest student award and is given each year “to recognize the spirit of citizenship and a demonstration of exemplary commitment to the values and mission of the Pardee School of Global Studies.” Nominations are made by faculty and staff at the Pardee School.

In announcing the award, Prof. Nora Loori praised Azari as a “prolific builder of community and connections, and a model citizen of the Pardee School.” She went on to describe him as “a gifted and inquisitive scholar with a strong passion to impact policy outside of the classroom.”

As a Pardee Center Graduate Summer Fellow in 2020, he studied Middle East oil and climate change policies, with a specific focus on the UAE. Learn more about the Pardee Center’s Graduate Summer Fellows program.
