Prof. Adil Najam Presents on Water Resource Management

Prof. Adil Najam, the Director of the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future and Professor of International Relations and Geography and Environemnt at Boston University was invited to present a special lecture on water resource management challenges in Pakistan at the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) in Islamabad, Pakistan, on Saturday, March 27, 2010.

The Pakistan at the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) is a part of the Pakistan Ministry of Science and Technology and carries out research for the improvement of water quality, water management and rainwater harvesting in Pakistan. Prof. Najam’s talk was attended by scientists and researchers from the Council as well as specialists in water management from academia and government agencies in Pakistan. In his talk Prof. Najam highlighted how water is a critical element both in human development and in human security, particularly for a country like Pakistan.

Later Prof. Najam visited and met the staff and scientists at the National Water Quality Laboratory, which is also based at the PCRWR.
