Karra Presents at Population Association of America Meeting

Mahesh Karra, Assistant Professor of Global Development Policy at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, presented at the Population Association of America’s Annual Meeting in Denver from April 26-28, 2018.

Karra delivered a presentation entitled “Consistent Estimation with Complex Induced Measurement Error in Explanatory Variables: A Numerical Integration Approach,” with David Canning.

At the meeting, Kara also presented a poster of his study on measuring women’s labor force participation and work in Burundi.

The Population Association of America (PAA) is a nonprofit, scientific, professional organization established to promote the improvement, advancement and progress of the human condition through research of problems related to human population.

PAA members include demographers, sociologists, economists, public health professionals, and other individuals interested in research and education in the population field.

Karra’s academic and research interests are broadly in development economics, health economics, quantitative methods, and applied demography. His research utilizes experimental and non-experimental methods to investigate the relationships between population, health, and economic development in low- and middle-income countries.
