Prof. Renata Keller Publishes in Journal Diplomatic History

Historian and Assistant Professor Renata Keller of the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies has taken a new look at the impacts of the Cuban Missile Crisis on the politics of Latin America in a new article published in the Oxford Univeristy Press journal Diplomatic History (2014).

The argument of the paper, titled “The Latin American Missile Crisis”, is explained in its abstract, as follows:

“This is a transnational history of the ways that the Cuban Missile Crisis affected national politics and international relations in the Americas. It argues that Latin American governments and citizens tried to take advantage of the crisis to change both local balances of power and relations with the United States.”
