University Service Center (USC)
The University Service Center is the place to call when you have questions or problems that don’t seem to be a good fit with any of the more specialized offices at the University. Their staff assists undergraduate students with complex problem resolution, in particular questions or concerns that are sensitive in nature or involve multiple University areas simultaneously. The USC also administers the leave of absence, withdrawal, and return from leave processes for undergraduates.

Educational Resource Center (ERC)
The Educational Resource Center (ERC) is here to support students as they navigate the rigorous academic landscape at Boston University. In addition to the four core programs—Peer Tutoring, Writing Assistance, Language Link, and Academic Skills Advising—the ERC also helps connect students to academic resources all across campus.

Fellowships & Scholarships Office
The Office of Fellowships and Scholarships provides outreach, information, and guidance to high-achieving Boston University students and recent alumni across a variety of external and BU-specific fellowships that support domestic and international experiences before and after graduation. Study Abroad
Study Abroad is responsible for developing and providing opportunities for undergraduate study around the world, in close collaboration with BU’s academic units. BU CAS Writing Program
The Writing Program helps BU undergraduates acquire writing and communication skills and more general habits of mind essential both to their full participation in the intellectual life of the university and to their future personal, professional, and civic lives. The program pursues this mission both directly, through its courses and tutorials, and indirectly, by supporting other programs, departments, and schools in their own efforts to attend to their students’ writing.

Center for English Language and Orientation Programs
Since 1975, CELOP has helped international students improve their English and understanding of U.S. culture. We have sent thousands of students to higher education institutions around the U.S. Our students leave CELOP with advanced English language skills and are prepared for the demands of a U.S. university education. Others come to CELOP for professional development in one of our specialized professional programs.

Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground
The Thurman Center is Boston University’s cultural hub, and, unlike many colleges and universities that have separate Centers based on race, Boston University’s Howard Thurman Center does not. The Thurman Center is intentionally inclusive and emphasizes the importance of stepping outside your comfort zone to build relationships and share experiences with others.
