A note to families regarding coronavirus concerns
The following was sent to parents and family members of current students on Monday, March 9, 2020.
Boston University, like many colleges and universities throughout the world, has taken a variety of steps addressing the global spread of COVID-19, the current novel coronavirus.
In an effort to streamline coordinated communications and responses throughout the University, a website has been set up to address the concerns students, faculty, staff and family members have. It is available here and updated regularly.
This site will provide information regarding University-sponsored travel, as well as personal travel, and our Study Abroad programming. In an effort to reduce possible transmission of COVID-19, please be aware that the University is requiring all returning travelers from Level 2 and Level 3 countries to self-quarantine at their permanent residence whenever possible and not return to campus. On that site, we also have provided information about the University’s emergency plan in regards to COVID-19.
We encourage you to keep yourself informed by reviewing this website. Remind your student to do the same. That website, as well as all-University emails to students, will be the main mode of communication regarding the University’s response. Thank you for your continued support of your students during these uncertain times.
Sincerely,
