Constitution Day: DNA collection and the 4th Amendment Featuring: Professor David Breen, Professor Tracey Maclin and Professor David Rossman We hope you can join us for to BU Law’s 2013 Constitution Day program! In June 2013, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Maryland v. King that it does not violate the U.S. Constitution for the police to take DNA samples from people who have been arrested but not yet convicted. This decision forced the Court to confront the intersection of the right to privacy and cutting edge technology. Come hear BU Law Professors David Breen (former prosecutor; teaches in the Criminal Clinical Program), Tracey Maclin (teaches Constitutional Law, Criminal Procedure and a Supreme Court seminar) and David Rossman (teaches in the Criminal Clinical Program) discuss how the Court got to its conclusion and where it will all lead.
