Professor Neta Crawford on Drone Strikes at the Huffington Post
Professor Neta Crawford recently published an opinion and analysis piece titled “‘Targeted’ Drones Strikes and Magical Thinking” on the widely read Huffington Post news site. Professor Crawford, an expert in International Relations who is Co-Director of the “Costs of War” project writes about the realities about the United States’ use of drones arguing, among other things, that while drones may be the “coolest tool” in the U.S. arsenal, it is also to overestimate their precision. Crawford raises concerns about secrecy and drones, particularly concerning civilian casualties, by focusing on the reality that drones are not as precise as many believe.
