Reminder-Lab Animal per diem rates change 7/1/2020
Effective July 1, 2020, the University has announced the lab animal per diem rates for Boston University (exclusive of the NEIDL).
The tables below reflect the costs for fiscal year 2021, beginning July 1, 2020, as well as proposed costs for the next four years. Please use these projected costs when preparing proposal submission forms.
Subsidized rates are for grants that carry the full BU-negotiated facilities and administrative (F&A) rate. The full direct cost, Non-Subsidized rates must be used for grants that do not carry the full BU negotiated F&A rate. Please note that all industry-sponsored research awards, as well as any startup or other non-sponsored funding sources must pay the full, unsubsidized cost; therefore, please plan accordingly when submitting proposals and funding requests.
Please note these rates are exclusive of research within the NEIDL.
