SLHS Prof Diane Constantino Receives NSSLHA Continued Commitment Award
Diane Constantino, Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences, was honored with the Continued Commitment Award from the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA). The Award recognizes an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association member and NSSLHA chapter advisor who is consistently dedicated to the core values of NSSLHA.
Constantino has been a NSSLHA advisor for eight years, serving as a compassionate mentor for speech, language & hearing sciences students. In this role, she participates in numerous events, fundraisers, and community outreach activities while supporting students’ ideas, vision, and advocacy goals.
“Professor Constantino is an impeccable mentor to the students of Boston University’s NSSLHA Chapter,” said NSSLHA in a statement. “Her warm and positive energy helps build a deeper sense of community within the chapter, while her guidance motivates chapter leaders to push boundaries.”
Director of the Center for Stuttering Therapy at Boston University, Constantino’s clinical specialties include fluency disorders, counseling, and clinical education and training. As part of her commitment to individuals who stutter, she hosts the Stuttering Foundation’s Eastern Workshop and the National Stuttering Association’s Boston Family Fun Day annually at BU.
