Professor Julie Springwater Awarded NSTDA Career Achievement Award

BUSSW professor Julie Sweeney Springwater has been honored by the National Staff Development and Trainers Association (NSTDA) with their 2018 Career Achievement Award for Exceptional Leadership and Educational Contributions to the Field of Health and Human Services.

The NSTDA, a group within the larger American Public Human Services Association (APHSA), is comprised of state and county public human services organizations from across the United States. The Association chose Springwater for its 2018 award following an extensive selection process: a nomination from six New England state public sector agencies and nine letters of support. The letters attested to Springwater’s dedication and her achievements, with one contributor writing that “[Julie’s] efforts have had a positive impact on thousands of children in care and those who care for them.”

Springwater, who has spent 24 years working with public sector agencies in the Northeast, is currently the Chair of Macro Practice at BUSSW, the Governance Committee Chair of the Child Welfare League of America, a member of USA Gymnastics’ Board of Directors.
