Former Field Ed Director Julianne Wayne (SSW’62) Wins Lifetime Achievement Award
In fall 2019, the National Association of Social Workers’ Connecticut Chapter selected BUSSW alumna and former staff and faculty member Julianne Wayne as the winner of its 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award.
Wayne, a field education specialist and expert in social work group practice, spent more than two decades at BUSSW as director of field education and associate dean of academic affairs. Wayne is co-author of Group Work Education in the Field, a book published cooperatively by Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and International Association for Social Work with Groups (IASWG) that serves as a seminal resource for group work teaching and practice.
Wayne was nominated for the Lifetime Achievement Award by fellow BUSSW alum Herbert Jay Rosenfeld, a clinical practitioner and former president of BUSSW’s Alumni Association. Rosenfeld, who joined Wayne at NASW-CT’s annual awards dinner, presented her the Lifetime Achievement Award on Nov. 14, 2019 in Middletown, Connecticut.
