Professor Cooney Participates in Panel Discussion on Alleviating Poverty Through Business Strategy

Professor Kate Cooney was an invited speaker on a panel at the Academy of Management Meeting in Philadelphia on August 5. The panel, "Alleviating Poverty through Business Strategy," brought together scholars from various disciplines to explore five key aspects to approaches to poverty alleviation through business: social entrepreneurship, nonprofit-for-profit partnerships, strategy and the role of government, business-educational partnerships, and micro interventions (including village work and micro enterprise).

Professor Cooney contributed to the social enterpreneurship part of the program, discussing her research on social enterprise with an overview of her theoretical work and empirical investigations.
